For the third consecutive year I had the opportunity to create and conduct original music for the Ken Burns Prize event in New York City on May 1. The event, in conjunction with the American Prairie Reserve, awards a prize each to to an outstanding American states person who has contributed to the American Spirit through art, music, poetry, and books. This year’s recipient, Dr. N Scott Momaday, is a Native American author, poet, and scholar, as well as a captivating public speaker and storyteller. The event featured several guest speakers including the renowned actress Meryl Streep, and the wonderful musicians of the Met Opera and New York Philharmonic orchestras and top level studio musicians in the city. It was another grand event, and I’m grateful to be involved!
